Understanding and responding to the impact of incarceration on families and communities are critical components of our work at Community Partners in Action. We are honored to be invited by choreographer and filmmaker, Suchi Branfman, for a live, in-person screening of Angee’s Journey, a forty- minute dance documentary.
The film captures a mother’s devotion to her son Ernst Fenelon Jr., traveling twelve hours each way to visit him each month for fourteen and a half years in a maximum-security state men’s prison in California.
Immediately following the film, Suchi will host aconversation with Angee Fenelon and Ernst Fenelon Jr, whose lives are featured in the film, along with CPAspecial guests Tracie Bernardi Guzman (who spent 23 years incarcerated at York Correctional Institution), her mother Laura Bernardi, and Debbie Rogala, CPA’s Director of Operations.
