A Message from Beth Hines, Executive Director
Justice is about the dignified treatment of our fellow humans, but all too often justice does not prevail. And unfortunately, injustice in America is highlighted by the inhumane treatment and murder of George Floyd.
Community Partners in Action sends our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Floyd’s family and all individuals and families who have suffered as a result of injustice. We support our staff and the participants we serve as they cope with recent events.
As an agency we stand united, actively working toward reform and with those who are peacefully protesting the need for altering the course of history toward a more just society.
We recognize the persistent inequalities in our nation and the need for immediate change. Change in how we treat one another. Change in the opportunities we provide to our children, regardless of race, creed, gender, economic status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Change in how our law enforcement and the justice system treat those who have black or brown skin. And change in how we respect and support human dignity, despite any “wrongs” that may or may not have been committed by any individual.
Since 1875, Community Partners in Action has been a leader nationwide in promoting justice reform and equality for all. We are proud to be an active part of the change, and thankful to those who help us fulfill our mission, especially our funders, donors, community partners, and those who have experienced the system itself.
We are emboldened and will seize this moment together. Our work is now more critical than ever. May we collectively forge a path towards harmony and everlasting change.
In Peace,
Beth Hines
Executive Director
