On January 23, Community Partners in Action launched its milestone 150th year with An Evening at the Hartford Reentry Welcome Center, bringing together our donors, friends, and supporters for a night of celebration and impact. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us to mark this occasion and contributed to our fundraising goal of $150,000—an investment in second chances and stronger communities.
As we move forward in a time of reduced funding—and with no state revenue allocated for the Hartford and Waterbury Reentry Welcome Centers—events like this are more critical than ever. The Welcome Center provides essential support to individuals returning home from incarceration, offering help with housing, employment, mental health services, and reentry resources to ensure they have a pathway to stability and success. This event not only celebrated our history but also helped draw attention to the urgent need to sustain and expand these vital services.
Led by Executive Director Beth Hines, Director of Operations Deb Rogala, and the entire HRWC team, the evening was a powerful reminder of our mission in action. The evening provided heartfelt words that underscored the life-changing impact of our work.
A special thank you to:
🌟 Joe Hlavati and Peer-to-Peer Counselor Robin Ledbetter for courageously sharing their inspiring personal stories.
🌟 Board Member Christy Miller for introducing our sponsorship package.
🌟 Board Member Cynthia Crouch and her husband, John, for stepping forward as our first individual sponsors!
The generosity of those who attended and contributed and their unwavering belief in the power of second chances make our work possible. With their support—and yours—we can continue empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and building brighter futures.
Thank you for being part of this journey—here’s to the next 150 years!
