On July 28th, the Mark Twain House & Museum and Community Partners in Action (CPA) hosted a discussion with author Jaime Lowe and CPA Executive Director Beth Hines about Jaime’s book “Breathing Fire: Female Inmates on the Front Lines of California’s Wildfires.” Close to 90 people attended this fascinating discussion.
You can still watch the 1-hour virtual event here.
The book “BREATHING FIRE” expands on Jaime’s revelatory work for The New York Times Magazine. The book is an intimate portrayal of the hundreds of women in California’s Correctional Camps who put their lives on the line each year, while imprisoned, to save a state in peril.
You can purchase a signed copy of “BREATHING FIRE” here.
We want to think the Mark Twain House & Museum for inviting CPA to participate in this event.
