What a great way to celebrate the Holiday Season!
We are thrilled to announce we have a new location for our Mart’s House reentry home for women! One of our community partners had a house available for lease that was zoned for six residents. It is a home, like our original Mart’s House, and the women moved in the last week of November!
We are so thankful for the many people who reached out after the original home was destroyed by a fire back in June. The new home in Manchester, CT will be the permanent location for Mart’s House going forward.
The generous gifts and items donated for Mart’s House after the fire have been amazing.
We are so grateful.
Donations and assistance included: Decor and other items for the temporary residential facility; making meals for the residents; preparing the new house for move-in; tickets for the residents from Cirque du Soleil; and gifts that will help sustain the operation of Mart’s House.
Many of you may not know that this reentry housing program is 100% dependent on private gifts, grants, and modest rents paid by the residents.
The residents are humbled by the outpouring of support.
One of the many services provided by our Resettlement Program, Mart’s House is more than a house—it is a home. The decor in the new house retains the warm, inviting and supportive atmosphere of our original house, and each woman has her own bedroom.
Having a permanent location for Mart’s House again is so important to the women living there. It is very hard for people to find safe housing when they return home from prison. Mart’s House allows the women to set that worry aside while they prepare to live on their own.

Here’s to new beginnings. We couldn’t do it without you!
