The Greater Hartford Reentry Welcome Center was alive with energy on Wednesday, Oct. 29, as the Greater Hartford Reentry Council hosted a Health & Wellness Resource Fair, welcoming scores of participants and more than two dozen community organizations offering vital health, wellness, and reentry support services.

This event, which took months of planning and collaboration, brought together community partners dedicated to helping individuals returning home after incarceration rebuild healthy, stable, and fulfilling lives.

Visitors received information and assistance on a wide range of services, including health and wellness screenings, behavioral health support, cholesterol and blood pressure checks, pharmacy needs, and preventative care resources.

“This event truly reflects the power of partnership,” said Sue Gundermann, CPA’s Reentry Services Program Operations Director. “It takes a great deal of coordination and outreach to bring this many agencies together, and the Greater Hartford Reentry Council has done a phenomenal job getting the word out and ensuring that individuals in need know these services are available. We’re deeply grateful to our community partners and friends who made today a success.”

The fair underscored the importance of collaboration in helping people access the essential resources they need to move forward, one connection, one conversation, and one step toward wellness at a time.
