Message in the Music: A Collaboration for Change

At Community Partners in Action, we believe that stories of struggle, strength, and second chances deserve to be heard — and sometimes, the most powerful stories are told not just in words, but in music.

“Message in the Music” is a special collaboration between CPA and musician Darryl Scotti and his band Big Yard, whose socially conscious music amplifies the voices of those impacted by incarceration, addiction, homelessness, mental illness, and other barriers to reentry. Through this partnership, CPA is honored to incorporate Darryl Scotti and Big Yard’s music and storytelling efforts, that highlight the journeys of our participants — stories of resilience, recovery, and hope.

This is more than a soundtrack. It’s a shared mission.

In turn, Big Yard Nation, Darryl’s record and social media brand will also lift up CPA’s work on their own social media platforms, helping to build awareness and support for reentry services and second chances through the universal language of music.

Together, we’re using art and advocacy to break stigma, inspire compassion, and move hearts toward justice.
