Preparing Testimony to Overcome Barriers to Housing

by | Feb 24, 2023

Finding a decent place to live for those who have a criminal record is challenging. Even for individuals who were released several years ago. CPA participants who experience repeated housing denials from landlords and property managers based on their prior incarceration, can be left couch surfing or living on the streets.

Two of CPA’s participants just took part in a testimony preparation workshop led by James Jeter and Shelby Henderson, Coleaders of Connecticut’s Full Citizen’s Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to undoing unjust harms against those formerly incarcerated, so everyone can use their voice as a full citizen.
