On May 2nd, CPA’s Hartford Reentry Welcome Center was featured on the News Channel 8 program, “This Week in CT with Dennis House”.
The segment said that nationally, 44-percent of people released from prison are locked up again in a year. Connecticut is slightly better at 30-percent but that number increases in larger cities like Waterbury and Hartford.
Executive Director Beth Hines and Peter Diaz, a current participant at the Hartford Reentry Welcome Center, talked with Dennis House about the challenges of reentry and how reentry services can help a person returning home after prison.
