Reflecting on Hispanic Heritage Month

In Appreciation of Rich and Diverse Cultures

As we revel in the richness of October’s Fall colors, Community Partners in Action reflects on the rich and diverse cultures celebrated during Hispanic Heritage Month. Our organization is made better by the contributions and presence of our Hispanic and Latinx board members, staff, participants, supporters, and partner organizations.

While they represent only 17.3% of Connecticut’s population, over 30% of the people in CPA’s programs are Hispanic and Latinx. In addition, they often are first-generation U.S. residents and still developing their English-speaking skills.

We are proud of the many roles our bi-lingual staff members play at CPA. They are removing language barriers and providing a culturally responsive environment where participants are comfortable and feel heard.

Join us in thanking our Hispanic and Latinx staff members for their service, contributions, and dedication to Community Partners in Action.
